Whole Teacher Focus
Working with schools for the past 7 years has shown us that you cannot truly impact students if the teacher's needs are not being met. In our new model, the emotional, mental, and social health of the teacher is prioritized.
The Need
Schools should be giving awareness and attention to teacher's physical, emotional, and mental health
Teachers who feel confident in their strengths, abilities to teach, and support from their school community
Teachers should feel safe in developing and growing in their roles--and even in expanding their role if they choose
Teachers who feel connected to their purpose, their students, their school, their administrators and their community
Improved communication between teachers, administrators, and the rest of the school staff--get rid of rigid hierarchy
Teachers should have access to training, resources, and support groups to deal with adverse experiences and mental distress.
How can a teacher teach a child to be Whole if they themselves are not Whole
